Doom Eternal: Denuvo, Offline Mode, PC Graphics Settings & 4K/Max Settings Performance Impressions

Bethesda has just lifted the review embargo for Doom Eternal, and we can finally share some tech details about it. As such, we are happy to report that Doom Eternal runs silky smooth in 4K and Ultra Nightmare settings on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX2080Ti. Moreover, you can find below all of the PC graphics settings that are available. And yes, as the title suggests, the game uses the Denuvo anti-tamper tech.

In order to find out whether the game uses Denuvo, we initially looked at the size of its executable file. As we’ve discovered, the size of the executable file is 434MB. We then got in touch with Bethesda which confirmed its presence in the game. Bethesda has not clarified whether it will remove it at its launch. This could be possible as that’s exactly what happened with RAGE 2. However, and since Wolfenstein: Youngblood is still using Denuvo, I’m pretty sure that Bethesda will keep Denuvo in Doom Eternal for a while.

Now to some good news. We can confirm that the single-player campaign is playable in offline mode. Yeap, PC gamers can enjoy Doom Eternal’s single-player campaign without the need to connect to the Internet.

Furthermore, and despite using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech, the game runs silky smooth on the PC. Our PC Performance Analysis will go live tomorrow, however, we can share our initial 4K PC performance impressions of it. Our NVIDIA RTX2080Ti was able to push a minimum of 71fps and an average of 83fps in 4K/Ultra Nightmare settings during our stress benchmark scene. Do note that there are other areas that run faster than that.

Last but not least, the game does not support any Ray Tracing effects. id Software may add support in the future, however, nothing is set on stone as of yet.

Below you can find the game’s PC graphics settings, as well as some 4K PC screenshots on Max Settings.

Enjoy!
